A few days back Telltale Games teased something unusual with this short clip featuring an eclectic video game cast:
Now they've gone public with their plans and announced Poker Night at the Inventory a comedic virtual card game featuring Strong Bad Max Tycho and The Heavy amongst other characters.
"We've had the idea for some time of exploring the idea of what video characters do when they're not ‘on the clock' in the games we play" said Telltale CEO Dan Connors. "We pitched the idea to friends in the industry and it really resonated. We all had a great time imagining what these guys would banter about while slinging cards – from there Poker Night at The Inventory was born."
Poker doesn't always make for great gameplay in video games but the potential for off-the-job character humor is certainly enticing. Considering that the game will only cost $4.99 Poker Night at the Inventory should be well worth the minimal investment.
The Steamworks-powered Poker Night at the Inventory will be available for the Mac and the PC later this fall. You can pre-order the game from Telltale here.
